Belleville, IL
Joshua Aaron Davis, 38, a devoted husband, father, accomplished engineer and lover of Jesus, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O’Fallon.
Josh is survived by his beloved wife, Allie Sehr Davis, and his children, Roland, Grace, Miriam (Mimi), and Baby Davis. He is also survived by his loving parents, Mark and Theresa (Gross) Davis of Troy; his sister Stephanie (Davis) Tripp and brother-in-law Matt Tripp; and his brother Andrew Davis. He leaves behind his father-in-law Ron “Scoot” Sehr, mother-in-law JoAnne Sehr, and brother-in-law Jonathon Sehr. He will be deeply missed by his grandmother Betty Gross, Allie’s grandmother Beverley “Gong” Thurman and many cherished uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Growing up in Troy from the age of five, Josh graduated from Triad High School in 2005. He possessed a lifelong curiosity and passion for learning how to fix and build things. He spoke fondly of the memories shared with his friends throughout his formative years. Josh furthered his education by earning a Bachelor in Electronics Engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) in 2009, followed by a master’s degree in electrical engineering.
He began his career as an intern at Scott Air Force Base and went on to work for the Department of Defense as an Electrical Engineer for 15 years. During his time at Scott, he co-founded Green Finned Hippe Farm with Alicia Clayton, and son Roland, where they raised chickens, goats, and mule foot hogs. A true entrepreneur, he hosted Saturday Goat Yoga and events where he taught people how to make their own flavored goat cheese. Josh was also a talented musician, performing in a band named Irony Rains.
After moving to Belleville, Josh met and married Allie, the love of his life, soulmate, and his “person”. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he shared his amazing voice and musical talent with the music ministry. He was a devout Christian and always believed in helping others. His entrepreneurial spirit continued as he left Scott Air Force Base to start a rental property company, a search engine optimization business, and an active member in the BNI of Belleville group and the Chamber of Commerce in O’Fallon. Later, he also became part-owner of Alexander Plumbing, assisting with daily operations and marketing.
Josh was truly loved by everyone who knew him and his absence is deeply felt. His imprint on this world is large and his passing leaves enormous holes in our hearts. The family asks for your prayers during this very difficult time.
Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church 1810 McClintock Avenue Belleville, Ill. 62221. Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, from 4 pm – 7 pm and Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10 am – 11 am. The Funeral Service will follow at 11 am, with Pastor Chris Spelbring officiating.
