Josephine "Joanne" Pearce

Josephine "Joanne" Pearce Josephine "Joanne" (Consiglio) Pearce, of East Haven, passed away March 9, 2026 in Yale New Haven Hospital- St. Raphael Campus. Born in New Haven on November 30, 1938, daughter of the late James Consiglio and Julia Scirocco Consiglio. She is the loving mother of William Pearce (LauraJean), Diana Pearce (Mark Batchelder), Anthony Pearce (Kathy), Susan See (Russell) and Joanne Fowler (Wade). Sister of the late Marion Consiglio and Thomasina Balsamo, Anthony, Michael, James, Richard and Joseph Consiglio, all of whom she missed and loved dearly. Joanne cherished the close relationship she had with her thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. After having her children, Joanne worked with her sister, Thomasina, at Tony's Park Lunch, later was part owner of R&J's Deli in New Haven and also worked with her daughters at Joanne's Deli, but will mostly be remembered for taking care of her grandchildren. Joanne enjoyed crafting and made many gifts for family and friends over the years. She also enjoyed baking, puzzles and going to the casino. She loved anything Rocky Balboa, she was a lover of all kinds of music, but of all the things Josephine enjoyed, nothing brought her more pure joy than spending time with her family. She loved to sit and have coffee, conversation and share stories of the past which were so entertaining because of her great sense of humor. Joanne was the most thoughtful and caring person and will truly be missed. Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00 in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Place in New Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Blessed Michael McGivney Parish at St. Michael Church Friday morning at 10:00. Burial will be private.
