May 7, 1936— March 6, 2026
Staten Island, NY
Josephine “Joan” Pacifico, a graceful and stylish woman who cherished her family above all, passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Born on May 7, 1936, in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, to Paul and Josephine Crissalli, she later made her home on Staten Island. She was married for 26 years to Eugene Pacifico and was predeceased by her sister Marie.
After raising her children, Josephine built a 20-year career in the corporate world of Manhattan with American International Group. Following her retirement, she remained deeply engaged in her community, devoting 23 years to volunteering at Staten Island University Hospital. She lived with quiet kindness and gentle wisdom, creating a home filled with comfort, joy, and celebration. Her family gathered often for holidays, enjoying the traditional meals she lovingly prepared.
Josephine had a passion for travel, exploring foreign cultures, theater, and the arts. She found great pleasure in gardening, decorating her home, and spending peaceful time at Spring Lake, New Jersey, and Seabrook Island, South Carolina. Above all, she was a devoted mother who offered her children—Eugene, Lauren, and Nicholas—constant encouragement, strength, and love. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Edward.
She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, faith, and a deep appreciation for living each day fully. Her spirit and love for life will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
