Josephine McCain Casper Higley

Josephine McCain Casper Higley, age 62, of Meadville, passed away on the morning of March 11, 2026, in Meadville.

Born in Meadville on March 7, 1964, she was the daughter of Glenn and Joan (Smith) McCain. A 1982 graduate of Maplewood High School, Josephine spent many years working as a waitress and cook at local restaurants. She was a longtime member of the Epiphany of the Lord Parish at St. Agatha’s Church and found quiet joy in gardening, reading, and crafting.

She is survived by her mother, Joan McCain of Meadville; her three sons, Joe Casper and his wife Elise of Meadville, Alan Casper and his significant other Heather Scherrbaum of Meadville, and Mark Casper and his wife Beth of Guys Mills; her four sisters, Christine Partin and her husband Daniel of Meadville, Cindy Finkbeiner of Guys Mills, Beverly McMann of Dayton, Ohio, and Trina McClure of Meadville; and six grandchildren, Alexa Casper, Jayden Casper, Autumn Casper, Jace Casper, Harlee Hazelhurst, and Gauge Papsun.

She was preceded in death by her father and her two brothers, David and Dan McCain.
