Josephine Mayo ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 9, 2026.Our beloved Mami, Josephine Margymae Mayo, 81, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026 surrounded by her family.Margymae was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 5, 1944 to Joseph Cammarata and Josefina Garayalde. She was raised in Puerto Rico in the loving home of Rafael and Elisa Calor.She studied business management at the University of Puerto Rico before moving to Columbus, Georgia, where she later retired from TSYS. After retirement, she relocated to Jacksonville, FL to be closer to her family.Margymae is survived by her children: her son Henry Mayo, his wife Stacey Mayo, and their children, Marco, Alyssa, and Clayton; her daughter Margymae Bori, her husband Frank Bori, and their children Harrison, Ryan, and Olivia; her son Vincent Mayo, his wife Allison Mayo, and their daughter Lily.Margymae was loving, full of joy, and known for her feisty personality. Despite her many challenges, she had a smile for everyone she met. She was known for having a funny Puerto Rican saying for any occasion or greeting with friends and family. As a single working mother, she always showed up for her children. She was our biggest cheerleader- often heard from the stands or finish line. She was also our soft place to land when life gave us lemons.Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished every moment of being an Abuelita. Her legacy lives on through her love of family, her strength in the face of adversity, and her will to always keep moving forward.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
