Basralian Funeral Service on Mar. 16, 2026.Josephine Maureen Bonavita, 98, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026.Predeceased by her husband Americo "Rick" Bonavita and son David, parents Lucille and Joseph Esposito and sister Nina Esposito. Survived by her daughter Barbara and husband James Eiszner, sons Gary Bonavita and wife Annie, and Gregory Bonavita and wife Carol, her 10 grandchildren, Nicole and husband Scott Wild, James Eiszner III and wife Laura, Richard Eiszner and wife Jessica, Bryony Adams and husband Andrew, Gregory Bonavita and wife Kristen, Morgan Rueda and husband William, Jennifer Bonavita, Daniel Bonavita and fiancée Alivia, David Bonavita and fiancée Bridgette, Madison Bonavita and her boyfriend Samuel Devine. Her ten great Grandchildren, Darren and Andrew Wild, Devon, Dillon and Emma Eiszner, Quinn and Chase Eiszner, Ayva Rueda, Joanna Josephine Bonavita and Charlotte Adams.Rick and Josephine met on a blind date and had a love affair for 60+ years full of love, laughter, family, dancing and golf. "Red" and "Whitey" were proud members of the Hackensack Golf Club and loved everything Oradell. In the last 10 years, Jay was a resident of Brightview Independent Living in Paramus. She was involved with her friends in every activity you can imagine from bible study, exercise classes, and any card game. Jay loved baking and cooking Italian meals for her family and friends. She was a social butterfly and a dancing queen. Her love, compassion, and bright red hair will be missed.Family and friends are all welcome to a celebration of life mass that will be offered at St. Joseph's Church, 300 Elm Street, Oradell, NJ, on Saturday, March 21st at 10:00AM. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Cooley's Anemia Foundation, 300 7th Avenue, Suite 200, NY, NY 10001.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
