Josephine Chance Poe, 79, of Apison, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026. She was born on February 15, 1947, in Richard City, Tennessee, to Robert and Ollie (Siler) Chance.
A longtime member of Apison Baptist Church, Josephine was a devoted mother and grandmother who found simple joy in life’s quieter pleasures. She loved watching her favorite old western movies, reading, and baking, especially desserts and chicken and dumplings.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Steve Chance. Josephine is survived by her daughter, Angie (Scott) Parton, her son, Dewayne Poe, her sisters, Paulette (David) Green and Vicky (Doug) Goff, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nephews.
