Josephine (Coccia) Barbarita

Josephine Barbarita, née Coccia, passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of eighty-eight. She shared a devoted marriage of sixty-seven years with her husband Michael, who predeceased her. Together they raised their seven children in Rochester’s Swillburg neighborhood. Josephine was also predeceased by three of her sons, Robert, Dominic, and Ronald Barbarita.

She is survived by her children Michael Barbarita, Lucy Collins, Josephine Fallon, and Richard Barbarita; her grandchildren Michael, Anthony, Kristan, Jenine, Gina, James, Joey, Patrick, Michael, Jack, Bonnie, and Dominic; her sisters Delores Cordello, Pauline Antonozzi, and Arlene Coccia; her brother Robert Coccia; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Those who knew Josephine will remember the steadfast love and care she gave to her large family throughout her long life.
