Joseph Wayne Martin

Joseph Wayne Martin, age 61, of Pleasureville, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. He began his career at American Emblem immediately after high school at the age of 18 and steadily advanced through the years, including the company’s transition to Black & Decker. Despite the challenges of multiple sclerosis, he continued working as long as he was able, eventually retiring as Maintenance Supervisor after more than 23 years of dedicated service. A lifelong and passionate University of Kentucky basketball fan, Joseph remained deeply engaged with the sport he loved.

Son of the late William Albert Martin, Sr. and Gracie Frances (Allen) Martin, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Samples) Martin, and his brother, James “Jimmy” Everett Martin.

He is survived by his sister, Sandra Ashcraft (Roy) of Shelbyville; his brother, William Martin, Jr. of Pleasureville; nephews Jeremy Lyons (Sarena), Scott Sanford (Kristen), and RJ Ashcraft; four great-nephews; and three great-nieces.
