Joseph Warren Kessen

Joseph Warren Kessen, of Parma Heights, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, after a short illness. He was 65. Joe was born on April 8, 1960, in Lafayette, Indiana, to John Frederick Kessen and Nancy Charlene Kessen (nee Starks). He is survived by his mother, his younger brother Jack, and his younger sister Susan (James Baek) and their children Molly and Stevie Baek.

Joe attended Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, where he ran on the track team, competed on the debate team, earned a perfect score on his PSAT, and was named a National Merit Scholar. He went on to study electrical engineering at Ohio State University and Cleveland State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and his Professional Engineer license.

He built a successful career as a professional electrical engineer. In retirement, he found joy in cooking, reading, and traveling. Joe was exceptionally intelligent and kind, blessed with a wonderful deep voice and a great laugh. He was greatly loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
