It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joseph Mizer of New Philadelphia, Ohio, who passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Mizer and Gladys Mizer. He is survived by: his wife Terry; his children, Kelli Troyer (Roman) of Sugarcreek, Chip Mizer (Amy) of Stone Creek and Kristi Lorenz (Jim) of Baltic; his grandchildren, Scott Troyer (Allison), Taylor Long (Nathan), Mason, Evan, Justin, Jordan Mizer, Logan and Collin Lorenz; his great grandchildren, Ashtyn Troyer and Fen Troyer; and his siblings, Sue Tango (Ken) of Dover, Jeff Mizer (Jody) of Coshocton, Nancy, Lewis and Thomas.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Smith-Varns Funeral Home (115 Andreas Dr NE, Sugarcreek, OH 44681). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Joe's name to Ohio's Hospice of Tuscarawas County in appreciation of the compassionate care they provided.
