Joseph Maisto

Joseph Maisto, 78, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Diane Zemke Maisto.

Born on February 7, 1948, in Waterbury Hospital, Joe was the son of the late Mary Azzara Maisto and Joseph Maisto. A devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of Saint Bridget of Sweden Parish, he took great pride in his roles as husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He cherished time with his family, whether gathered around the dining room table, sharing meals he prepared with care, or creating memories during vacations in the Caribbean Islands. Joe loved to cook, perfecting his vodka sauce, grilling, and preparing fried fish for Christmas Eve dinner. He was a warm and sociable man who treasured his many lifelong friends.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, Joseph (Shauna) Maisto of Southington and Kathryn Maisto Klemonski of Wolcott; four grandchildren, Joseph, Ella, Emma, and Lylah; his brother, William (Lea) Maisto; his sister, Mary (Vincent) Tremaglio; and thirteen nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Patrick (Margie) Maisto. The family extends deep gratitude to the staff at Regency House in Wallingford for their compassionate care.
