Joseph L. Gostony, 80, of Saylorsburg, passed away peacefully. Born in Bethlehem, Joseph was a son of the late Joseph and Irene Gostony (Horvath).
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. In his early years, he attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth.
He spent his working life in the trucking industry, eventually retiring from Ward Trucking after many years on the job and time spent working with several trucking companies.
A simple man at heart, he was known for being stubborn at times. But he had a playful heart. He got much joy in cracking jokes and making people laugh. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors.
He will be dearly missed by his sons: Joseph Gostony (Stacy) of Saylorsburg and Charles Gostony (Colleen) of Bath; grandchildren: Zachary, Joshua and Tiffany; sister: Rosalie Miklas (Bob) of Nazareth. He was predeceased by daughter: Monica Gostony and sister: Irene Johnson.
Friends and Relatives are invited to a Viewing from 6 to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2165 Community Drive - Bath, PA 18014. Interment with military honors will take place promptly at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery - 60 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003. (Please arrive at cemetery no later than 11:15 AM) Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net.
