Joseph Kusiak ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial on Mar. 17, 2026.Joseph Kusiak, 88, of New Britain, CT, beloved husband of Maria (Klimek) Kusiak, passed away peacefully after battling lung cancer on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the Hospital of Central CT, with his loving family by his side. Joseph was born in Wroclaw, Poland, one of 10 children to the late Wincenty and Agnieszka (Mokrzycka) Kusiak, he was a long-time member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain.Joseph left Poland in 1963 to pursue a better life in the United States. In 1965 he married the love of his life Maria to whom he devoted over 60 years of marriage. Joseph was a loving, generous, patient, caring and hardworking man who most of all enjoyed and prioritized providing for his family. He was an avid Catholic, who faithfully attended mass every Sunday with his wife. Joseph loved his three children, granddaughter and most of all his beloved wife who he patiently and lovingly took care of until his last days. His kind and compassionate heart will be missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his wife Maria; his son Andrew and wife Lila Kusiak of Southington, CT, his daughter Dorothy and her husband Randy of Fort Myers, FL and his son Robert Kusiak and his partner Sarah Champagne of Southington, CT, his granddaughter, Erika Kusiak of Southington and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in the US, Poland and Canada.Joseph was pre deceased by his five brothers and four sisters.Joseph's focus and hope in the last few years was that a cure for Alzheimer's/dementia could be found for his wife; His desire would be to continue to fight and find that cure.
