Joseph Gerald Rodgers

Joseph Gerald Rodgers, age 83, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on March 10, 2026.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Joseph Rodgers and Conceicao (Medeiros) Rodgers. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a long career as a dental lab technician. Joseph was known as an incredibly hard worker who was deeply devoted to his profession and truly loved what he did. In his younger years, he found great joy in working on engines and fixing cars.

He was the widower of the late Elaine Caron and the late Lucille Bizier. Joseph is survived by his daughters, Renee Cambra and Rhonda Rodgers; his stepson, Stephen Costa; his sisters, Michele Mendonca and Jeanne Howlett; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his nieces and nephew; and his devoted caretaker Lexi Brodeur, who was like a daughter to him. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Joseph Rodgers; his stepdaughter, Charlene Costa; and his brothers, Jeffrey R. Rodgers and Roger Rodgers.
