However, individuals with AS are blessed with a natural predisposition to happiness, and Joe's easy smile and contagious laughter lit up every room he was in. His ability to love suffered no limitations, and he communicated that love with his beautiful blue eyes and his extra-strength hugs. He was a blessing and light in our lives and will be tremendously missed. We would like to thank all those who shared in Joe's care over the years, including our family, Jennifer, the staff at the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative, and the staff at Baroco, as well as many medical professionals throughout his life. Joe was currently participating in the Angelman Syndrome Natural History Study under the direction of Dr. Wen-Hann Tan at Boston Children's Hospital. Later in life, Joe and his family found Dr. Ronald Thibert, Director of AS Clinic at Mass General Brigham. Both of these doctors provided thoughtful guidance and shared their AS expertise with kindness.Calling hours will take place from 4-7 PM on Thursday March 19th at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main Street, Agawam.
