Mr. Ahern was born on May 13, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois to the late John Ahern and the late Frida Balsamo Ahern. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Jack Ahern, James Ahern, Edward Ahern, and Michael Ahern, and sisters, Mary Ann Kovacevich and Norine Ahern. Mr. Ahern retired as an Operating Engineer & Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Kenny Construction in Chicago.
