Joseph Christopher "Chris" Barclay, 47, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, surrounded by love.Born on March 6, 1978, Chris had a vibrant spirit and lived his life wide open. Wherever there was music and water, that's where you'd find him. He loved adventure, laughter, and the joy of being surrounded by family and friends.Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Jessie Elizabeth Wallace and "JD" and "Peggy" Barclay; his uncle, Herky Wallace; his aunt and uncle, "Charlie" and Daryl Forker; and his nephew, Bryce Hodges.He is survived by his partner of 20 years, Scott Hall; his mother, Darlene Barclay; his father, Greg Barclay, and stepmother, Tammy Barclay; his sisters Jennifer Seiler and Jessica Hodges, and brother-in-law Chad Hodges; his niece, Harper Seiler; his nephews, Fletcher Hodges and Hudson Seiler; his uncle and aunt, Gary and Sheila Wallace; his aunt "Bea" Wallace; his uncle Joe Barclay and aunt Judy Prokopiak; along with many beloved cousins and dear friends. Many of Chris's happiest moments were spent on Lake Hamilton-surrounded by sunshine, good music, and the people he loved most.He lived boldly, loved deeply, and leaves behind a wake of memories that will carry his spirit forward. The music may fade and the boat may return to the dock, but his wild and reckless spirit will never be forgotten.Memorial Service is Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Canale Funeral Directors.
