Joseph Carroll Butler

Joseph Carroll Butler, 82, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Born on January 7, 1944, in Richmond, Virginia, he was the son of the late Joseph Bledsoe Butler and Louise Galyen Butler. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pamela Marsha Butler.

Joe is survived by his son, Ross Edward Butler; his grandchildren, Sierra Grace Butler, Chloe Estelle Butler, and Dylan Ross Butler; his sister, Carolyn Butler Blythe, and her husband, Phillip Wayne Blythe, Jr.; and many extended family members.

He lived a full life centered on simple pleasures. Joe enjoyed tending his garden, playing pickleball, joining friends for poker night, and participating in his Bible study groups. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, sense of fun, and lively spirit. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
