Joseph Arthur Sokolowski

Joseph Arthur Sokolowski, 65, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 16, 2026. Born on August 27, 1960, in Wheeling, West Virginia, he was the son of Clarima (Shrader) Sokolowski and the late Joseph C. Sokolowski.

A 1978 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and a 1980 graduate of Hobart Welding College, Joe worked for 18 years at the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation and another 19 years at the Ohio Coatings Plant. A longtime member of St. Francis Cabrini Church, he found his greatest joy in the outdoors. An avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper, he also cherished his time coaching Little League baseball.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph C. Sokolowski, in 2019. Surviving are his loving mother, Clarima Sokolowski of Clinton; his sister, Marilyn Coyne (Brian) of Sunset Heights; twin brothers, Ken (Pattie) of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, and Kevin (Sue) of Clinton; his nephew, Colin; and his fiancée, best friend, and love, Diane Sherrets, at home.

In keeping with his wishes, all services will remain private and held at the convenience of the family.
