Born on May 11, 1967, in Los Angeles, California, to Joseph and Alice Wilson, Joseph's journey through life was marked by kindness, humor, and an unwavering love for those around him.Joseph spent his early years in California and Arizona before making Pampa his home approximately 45 years ago. After completing his education, he embarked on a diverse career, working with Advanced Imaging Medical traveling to repair x-ray equipment, serving as a welder's helper, and dedicating years to the oilfield as a roughneck, pipeline worker, and journeyman. His work ethic and adaptability were evident in every role he took on.From a young age, Joseph's passion for baseball filled his childhood, and his love for music-especially rock bands like AC/DC and KISS-remained a lifelong joy. He enjoyed playing the drums, watching WWE Wrestling, and was known for his compassionate heart, always caring for animals and trying to save as many as he could.Joseph's vibrant, outgoing personality made him a cherished friend to many. He loved attending concerts, socializing, and greeting everyone with his signature big, infectious smile. Even as illness limited his activities, his spirit and warmth shined through.To truly capture his essence, his brother Reynaldo described Joseph as, "a splash of water to the face, a kick in the ass, regroup, put the screws back in, wipe the blood from the blade!" His presence was unmistakable and unforgettable to all who knew him.He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Wilson, and his grandmother, Edilia Lopez, who welcomed him into eternal peace.Joseph leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss his charisma and caring nature: his mother, Alice Wilson of Pampa; siblings, Reynaldo Wilson of Pampa and Amanda Wilson of San Antonio; Aunt Patricia Portillo and Uncle Rosendo of Hillsboro, TX; cousins, Diane Lopez of Hillsboro, George Lopez of Denver, CO, and Anthony Lopez of Fort Worth; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, at Winegeart Funeral Home in the Serenity Chapel.Celebration of Life Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on March 20, 2026, also in the Serenity Chapel, with Father Guadelupe Mayorga officiating. The family has entrusted Joseph's cremation care to Winegeart Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's honor may be made to PAWS, Pampa Animal Welfare Shelter, PO Box 2095, Pampa, TX 79065-2095, reflecting his deep love for animals.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
