Joseph Agnello

1934 — 2026

DuBois, PA

Joseph Agnello, 91, of DuBois, passed away at Christ the King Manor on March 11. Born on December 28, 1934, to the late Anthony Agnello and Josephine (Fernia) Agnello, he married the love of his life, Clara Perkoski Agnello, on July 25, 1953. They shared 63 loving years of marriage until her passing on March 4, 2017. She remained the center of his world, and he carried her memory with him always.

Joe was a longtime member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anita. He spent most of his working life with the B&O Railroad, serving as a brakeman and conductor. A thoughtful, good-hearted, and pleasant man, he loved life and its simple pleasures. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and had a deep fondness for polka music, often singing his favorite songs in his younger years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara; sons Anthony Agnello and Phillip Agnello; daughters Thressa Guinen and Rosemary Agnello; granddaughter Jennifer Duffield; sisters Kathrine Balser, Nancy Warden, Genevieve Slovinsky, and Josephine Anderson; and brothers John, Samuel, Paul, and Leonard Agnello.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Agnello of DuBois; grandchildren Ashley White, Jerod White, Derek Agnello, Brandi Spence, Amber Agnello, and Josh Agnello; and his brother, Richard Agnello of Punxsutawney.
