Joseph A. Robinson, age 72, of Leesburg, a dedicated martial artist, devoted family man, and cherished member of the Leesburg and Warsaw communities, passed away on March 14, 2026 at home in Leesburg, Indiana. He was born on September 29, 1953 in Mexico, Missouri to Al and Rosie (Jordan) Robinson.

A graduate of Warsaw High School in the class of 1972, Joseph went on to cultivate a deep passion for martial arts under the tutelage of the renowned Ken Gillenwater. His remarkable commitment led him to achieve the rank of 5th degree black belt in Karate at Lions Karate of North Webster, alongside a 2nd degree black belt in Aiki-Jujutsu and a 3rd degree black belt in Kobudo. His affiliation with Lions Karate remained steadfast, reflecting his lifelong devotion to the martial arts community.

Beyond the dojo, Joseph's interests were as diverse as they were profound. He found joy and expression through painting, writing, music, collecting, and playing guitar. These hobbies enriched his life and touched those around him, showcasing a man of many talents and passions.

Joseph is lovingly remembered by his wife, Cindy Robinson of Leesburg, whose partnership was a cornerstone of his life. He was a proud father to his children: Josh Jordan of Leesburg, Tamela (Andrew) Meck of Leesburg, and Nicholas (Linda) Robinson of Warsaw. His legacy continues through his twelve grandchildren: Damian, Noah, Aleigha, Aiden, Jackson, Olivia, Johnny, Bobbie, Jesse, and Grayson, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother, Allen (Nancy) Robinson of Warsaw; sister, Cathy (Balde) Espinoza of Warsaw; and his best friend, Steve Hanford of Fort Wayne. Joseph’s spirit was embraced by the entire family at Lion’s Karate of North Webster, where he was both mentor and friend. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee, whose memories remain treasured by all who knew them.

A Life Celebration Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Titus Funeral Home-Warsaw, located at 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana. A graveside service will follow that same day at 2:00 pm at Leesburg Cemetery, 653 W 675 N, Leesburg, Indiana.
