Jose Luis Gonzales, of Belton, passed into the arms of Our Lord on Thursday, March12, 2026 at Baylor-Scott and White Hospital in Temple, at the age of 72.

Luis was born on August 25, 1953 in Rio Verde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Maria Pacheco Gonzales. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather who took immense pride in his family and faith. His love and dedication to those closest to him were evident in everything he did. Guided by his deep and steadfast faith, he served the Lord and his fellow brothers and sisters at Ave T Church of Christ wholeheartedly. Outside of his faith and family, Luis found great joy in the outdoors. He loved spending time fishing, hunting, or simply taking a nature walk. He was passionate about soccer and enjoyed both playing and watching his favorite pastime.

Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his son, Luis Angel Gonzales. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Maria Guadalupe Gonzales, his daughters, Angelica Hernandez, and husband Israel, Maricruz Vodrey, and husband Scott, Linda Caro, and husband Mario, and his sisters, Rosa Pacheco and Rosario Gonzales. He was a most proud grandfather to Israel Jr., Jacob and Benjamin Hernandez and Caleb Caro.

A visitation for Luis will be held at Ave T Church of Christ on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM, with Mr. Pedro Evans officiating. Burial will proceed at North Belton Cemetery.

Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
