New Britain, CT

Born on May 8, 1970, in Puerto Rico, Jose was the beloved son of Sara Correra and Angel DeJesus Ortiz. After attending the New York Automotive and Diesel Institute, he built a dedicated and accomplished career as a Diesel Technician and Heavy Machinery Operator with GlacierPoint Enterprises in the Bronx, N.Y. He also served as a New York State Inspector of Heavy Machinery, a role that reflected both his expertise and his commitment to safety and precision. Throughout his professional life, Jose earned deep respect for his tireless work ethic, steady reliability, and easy-going personality—qualities that made him not only a valued colleague but a cherished presence in every workplace he touched.

Beyond his career, Jose was a man of many passions, but he was truly happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. Those who knew him best will always remember his laid-back nature, his gentle smile, and his profound spirit of generosity.

Jose is survived by his beloved daughters, Joellisa and Alice, and his cherished granddaughter, Jayleen. He also leaves behind his mother, Sara Correra; his father, Angel DeJesus Ortiz; and his siblings, Diego Jr., Luis, Josue, Rene, and Janet, along with a host of aunts and uncles. He will be deeply missed by a wide circle of friends who were also like family to him.
