Jose de Vares ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home - Lexington on Mar. 7, 2026.Jose Alberto Ferreira de Vares, 66, of Iselin, New Jersey died suddenly at home on Thursday, March 5, 2026.Born in Funchal Madeira, Portugal, Jose came to the United States on April 4, 1978 settling first in Garfield before moving to Passaic. He then resided in Port Reading and Belmar before moving to Iselin ten years ago.He was a mechanic and tow truck driver for AAA All Car Auto Salvage of Avenel. Previously he owned his own auto repair and was also employed at National Spring Co. of Paterson. His passion was saltwater fishing.He was predeceased by his parents, Cecilio F. and Maria (nee da Silva) Vares; his brother, Jose Manuel and his sister, Elizabeth.Survivors include: his wife of sixteen years, Kimberly Goodell; his stepdaughter, Destiny Hope Heasman; his two sisters, Anna Medina and Regina Perez, both of Clifton; his three brothers, Francisco of Portugal, Orlando of Carteret and Paulo of Fair Lawn; and several nieces and nephews.A Memorial Gathering will be held om Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 4-7 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Avenue, Clifton, NJ 07011.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Jose Alberto Ferreira de Vares, please visit our floral store.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
