Jorge Eduardo "Corky" Gonzalez, Sr.

November 24, 1972 March 5, 2026

Jorge Eduardo “Corky” Gonzalez Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026, after a courageous two-year battle with metastatic cancer. In his final moments, he was surrounded by the loving presence of his family, feeling their love and support until his very last breath.

Corky was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose warmth, strength, and love for family touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his unwavering dedication to those he loved, and the joy he brought to family gatherings and everyday moments alike.

For 20 years, Corky worked as a machinist in the semiconductor industry, a trade he truly loved and took great pride in. His dedication, skill, and strong work ethic reflected the same commitment he showed in every part of his life.

Corky had a passion for riding his motorcycle and cherished the freedom and peace it brought him. He especially loved spending time barbequing with family and friends, creating memories filled with laughter, good food, and togetherness. Known for his lively personality, Corky was often the life of the party. His playful sense of humor and constant joking made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. He had a way of making others smile and feel welcome, and his presence could light up any room.

He was preceded in death by his father, Enrique Alfredo Gonzalez; his paternal grandparents, Maria Elena Marron Gonzalez and Romeo E. Gonzalez; his maternal grandparents, Esther Salinas Vera and Gilberto Vera; and his beloved aunt, Sarita Victoria Gonzalez Dolcater.

Corky leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory always: his beloved wife, Irene Gonzalez; his daughter, Layla Rebecca Gonzalez (Brian O'Carroll); and his son, Jorge Eduardo Gonzalez Jr. (Ana Karen Gonzalez). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Juliana Alicia Gonzalez, Analiyah Maelani Gonzalez, and Jorge Eduardo Gonzalez III.

He is also survived by his mother, Ciria Vera Gonzalez; his sister, Patricia Shipley; his brothers, Miguel Enrique Gonzalez (Cynthia Jude Gonzalez) and Ernesto Adrian Gonzalez (Dawn Marie Gonzalez); his cousins, Carmelina Elena Lawrence (Robert Bryan Lawrence) and Monica Isabel Flores (Dusty Burcham); his brothers-in-law, Ramon Baez Jr. and Ivan Baez (Claudia Garza); his sister-in-law, Vanessa Baez Castro (Emmanuel Castro); his mother-in-law, Irene Bueno; and his father-in-law, Ramon Baez (Dora Guadalupe Baez). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, as well as many dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Corky’s legacy is one of love, resilience, laughter, and devotion to family. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
