He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose DeSousa and Olivia DeSousa (Martins); his wife Maria Conceicao; and his sister Maria Gonsalves. He is survived by: his daughters, Marilyne DeSousa and Rosemary Borges (Richard Borges); his brother Alvaro DeSousa; and his granddaughters, Olivia Irene Leger, Stella Rose Borges and Nora Rose Borges. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Waring-Sullivan Home (180 Washington St, Fairhaven, MA 02719). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Waring Sullivan Fairlawn Funeral and Cremation Service (180 Washington St, Fairhaven, MA 02719). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (230 Bonney St, New Bedford, MA 02744). A burial will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at the Rural Cemetery (149 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA 02740).
