Johnny Perez
December 27, 1937— March 2, 2026
Port St. Lucie, FL
Johnny Perez, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud retired New York City police officer, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at the age of 88.
Johnny dedicated more than twenty years of his life to serving as an officer with the New York City Police Department. Throughout his career, he remained deeply committed to protecting and serving his community, wearing his badge with honor, integrity, and pride. He was respected not only as an officer but also as a loyal friend who touched the lives of many.
Above all else, Johnny loved his family. He was a proud and loving father who cherished every moment with his daughters, Allison, Evette (Daniel), Stacy, and Melissa (Roberto). Nothing brought him greater happiness than being a grandfather. His grandchildren, Stella and Leo, were the light of his life, and he treasured every laugh, hug, and memory they shared.
Johnny’s greatest joy was being a husband to his beloved wife, Nelly. He loved her deeply until his final breath. Their love was the foundation of their family, and his devotion to her was evident in everything he did.
He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, especially watching old Western movies and spending time cheering on his favorite teams. While he loved all sports, he held a special place in his heart for his daughters’ alma mater, the University of Central Florida, proudly supporting the Knights every chance he could.
Johnny will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the countless memories he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Haisley Tribute Center, 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd., Port St. Lucie, FL from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Service to follow at 12:00 pm.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health (johnritterfoundation.org) in Johnny's name.
