Johnny G. Sosaya

Johnny G. Sosaya, 76, of Santa Clara, New Mexico, passed away in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on March 4, 2026. Born on March 7, 1949, in San Jose, California, to Nellie Garcia and Fabian Sosaya, Johnny lived a life grounded in faith and family. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he found deep joy in sharing his beliefs with others. He especially cherished spending time outdoors, fishing and hunting alongside family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucille H. Sosaya, and their three children: Johnny (Roxanna) Sosaya of Tucson, Arizona; Amanda (Samuel) Hernandez of Santa Clara, New Mexico; and Christie (Jacob) Villegas of Sahuarita, Arizona. Johnny also leaves behind seven grandchildren—Valerie, Idaliss, Yesenia, and Samuel Hernandez, Zachary and Jeremy Sosaya, and Riley Villegas—as well as two brothers, Robert (Patsy) Sosaya and Richard Sosaya; two sisters, Patty (Jesus) Smith and Rosie Sosaya; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Fabian, and three brothers, Mario, Mariano, and Alex.
