Johnny Dwayne Bridges

John Dwayne Bridges, age 78, of Denison, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2026, at home surrounded by family and friends.

Born on April 9, 1947, in Platter, Oklahoma, to Floyd “Dutch” and Ruth V. (Giles) Bridges, John married the love of his life, Vonna G. Ramey, on July 3, 1969, at the Church of Christ in Denison, Texas. He attended school in Platter and later worked in construction for Jerry Paul Higgins until his retirement.

John was a simple man who found his greatest happiness in the company of his wife, family, and friends, along with the occasional presence of a few horses. Quiet and unassuming, he lived a life centered on the people he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Vonna, of the home; his brother, Jesse Bridges of Cartwright, Oklahoma; his sister, Dorothy Strange of Talihina, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ruth Bridges; his sisters, Lorraine Prock and Betty Jennings; and his brother, Gene Bridges.
