Johnnie Burdette

Johnnie Wynell Burdette was born on April 14, 1931, in Terrell, Texas, and passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.

She married the love of her life, William Norris “Bill” Burdette, on May 29, 1948, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and perseverance. Johnnie was a strong, determined, and God-fearing woman whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was known for her hard-headed determination, her deep faith, and her beautiful voice that could carry a harmony to any hymn. Music and worship remained close to her heart, and her singing often lifted the spirits of those around her.

Johnnie was a devoted mother to her three children, Gaylen, Michael, and Tawanna. Her legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love, strength, and guidance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband William Norris “Bill” Burdette, and her daughter Tawanna Ainsley. Johnnie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her strength of character, and the deep love she carried for her family throughout her long and meaningful life.
