She could make a home out of a cardboard box if she had to. Wherever she made her abode it felt warm and inviting and everyone knew they were welcome. She believed in seeing the best in every situation. There was almost always a smile on her face no matter what life had brought her way. Hardly ever did you hear a complaint come from her. Her way of finding the good in everything was truly a gift. She loved children and teaching just came naturally whether it was children or adults. She had a passion for caring for people. It didn't matter where a person had been or what their struggles in life were, she just wanted to be a help to them. Everybody was loved like family; there was always a place at her table for anyone who walked in the door.Cooking was her love language. She never knew how to cook a small amount and she could make a gourmet meal out of nothing. Her faith and teaching her children and grandchildren about God is part of the legacy she leaves behind. She encouraged them to pray through every situation, every struggle and to seek the Lord for the answers they needed in life. With the help of the Lord, she labored as a midwife and it brought her so much joy to see the Lord grant the breath of life, knowing she held a miracle each time a baby was born. She found peace in her garden or with a fishing pole in her hand. She loved to be outside and have a fire going. Camping was how she and David, better known as "Paw", liked to unwind. She had the gift of gab, never met a stranger, and loved drinking a good, hot cappuccino to get her going in the morning but there's nothing she loved more than her family. In her last days, Johnna lost her ability to speak, but she found ways to let her family know that she loved them like holding or kissing their hands, smiling at them, or raising her eyebrows to get a laugh. If she could say one last thing it would be this… "I love you kids. Remember to seek God in all things and He will help you."To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
