John "Billy" William Pettrey, Jr.
April 27, 1960— March 10, 2026
Live Oak, FL
John “Billy” William Pettrey, Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished brother, fell asleep in death on March 10, 2026, at the age of 65. His deep dedication to Jehovah was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and love he extended to everyone he met. He found particular joy in the prison witnessing work, viewing it as a meaningful way to serve faithfully and to share the hope and comfort he drew from his faith.
Above all, Billy was devoted to his family. He cherished 43 years of marriage with his wife, Sadie, loving her dearly and remaining a steady, affectionate presence in her life. As a father and grandfather, he took great pride in guiding and supporting his children and grandchildren. To his siblings and friends, he was dependable and thoughtful, always ready to offer a helping hand or a listening ear. He never met a stranger; his warm personality, quick humor, and genuine interest in others drew people to him as he openly shared his love for Jehovah.
In his free time, Billy loved being outdoors, especially hunting. Time spent in the woods with his family brought him peace and happiness, an enjoyment he happily passed along to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie Pettrey; his children, John and Dana Pettrey III, Priscilla and Chase Summers, and Michael Pettrey; his grandchildren, Abigail, Jaxsen, Ambrie, Austin, Aven, and Anthony; his siblings, Kenneth and Penny Pettrey, Dennis and Patty Pettrey, and Peggy and Chris Phillips; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mikey Pettrey; his parents, John and Carol Pettrey Sr.; and his little sister, Julie.
