John Wesley Knott

John Wesley Knott was born on October 23, 1952, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Willie Glen Knott and Amy Lois (Throop) Knott. The youngest of ten children, he grew up in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, where he remained a lifelong resident. He graduated from Locust Grove High School and spent many years working in construction for Jesse Ross and The Ross Group, completing projects across the state. John also found great joy in rodeo, competing in bull riding and steer wrestling.

He passed away on March 5, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 73. John is survived by his sister Katherine Ellison and her husband Ken of Creede, Colorado; his brother Jerry Knott and wife Glinda of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews who held him dear.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Dale, Nathan, David, and Bill Knott; his sisters Alice Saffell, Donna Rutherford, and Shirley Knott; and his nephews Tony Knott, Eric Ellison, and Joe Rutherford, as well as his nieces Joanie Durnal and Jerri Dawn Knott.
