John Wayne Wilkins

John Wayne Wilkins, 69, of Chesapeake, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on December 14, 1956, in Old Norfolk County, he was the beloved son of the late Herman Valley Wilkins and Margaret Ellen Taylor Wilkins.

John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy before returning to civilian life and building a career as an electrician. He worked diligently in that field until his retirement, earning respect for his steady commitment and skill.

Above all, John found his greatest joy in the company of his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love were felt by everyone close to him, whether during lively family gatherings or quiet visits with those he held dear.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Angela Schott, and her husband, Dustin; his son, John Robert Wilkins; and four treasured grandchildren, Alyssa Schott, Wesley Hutcheson, Damon Bass, and Bridget Lee. John will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
