John Van Beek

John Van Beek, born March 1, 1943, passed away on March 4, 2026.

He was the beloved husband of Phyllis Van Beek (née O’Leary) and the cherished son of John and Christine Van Beek (née Zuidema). A loving father, he is survived by his children, John Michael Van Beek and Tammy Figus (née Van Beek), and her husband Michael Figus. He was the proud and devoted grandfather of Zachary and Kailey Figus.

John was the dear brother of Barbara Travis (née Van Beek), Deborah Tibbens (née Van Beek) and her husband Gary, and Robert Van Beek and his wife Patricia. He was a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He honorably served five years in the United States Air Force as part of the Strategic Air Command and was a proud member of the Bolingbrook American Legion Post #1288.
