McEvoy, an aviator, entrepreneur and a proud 1st lieutenant in the USAF, passed away Wednesday February 25, 2026.He was born in Walla Walla, Washington in 1931 from strong, hardy pioneer stock who bravely traveled the Oregon Trail and or came Northly on Horseback to Washington Territory in1864. He was proud of his heritage and his relatives accomplishments.He was fascinated at an early age with airplanes and the pilots who flew them. He joined the United States Air Force, enlisting as an Airman during the Korean War in 1951. Through hard work and determination, he became a Pilot and 1st Lieutenant flying T-6 Trainers and eventually B-36 Strategic Bombers during the Cold War. After his Honorable Discharge he was employed by the Boeing Co. in Seattle, WA as a flight test engineer with the new B707 development program. He flew with 'Greats', Tex Johnson among them. He traveled the world for Boeing training others to fly B707 and B727 jet airplanes.He then moved on and developed his entrepreneurial skills and had a storied career in aviation. His autobiography 'Stone the Courts and Hang the Judges' was colorful and detailed his many exciting adventures.He was a loving father enjoyed many pets. He was fond of drawing many amusing cartoons and he often gave speaking engagements about his adventures, as well as, inviting others to share theirs. Fortunately, they were all recorded and kept in DVD form.He lived with Gusto and Zeal and seemed to embody the Air Force motto: Aim High-Fly-Fight-Win.Funeral Service is at the Tahoma National Veterans Cemetery in Kent, WA March 24, 2026 1pm. An Irish Wake to follow at the Normandy Park Community Club 'Cove'.He is survived by Shawn G.
