John Tom Vera

John Tom (Tommy) Vera, 82, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. Born in Brownsville, Texas, to Bertha Kerich and John Vera, he was raised in Superior, Arizona, before later making Chandler his home.

John built a life rooted in faith, family, and a strong work ethic. He earned his GED and worked for many years as a miner at the Magma Mine in Superior. He later worked as a production operator at Roger's and as a security guard for Allied Barton, continuing to work until the age of 82.

A devoted man of God, John placed his family above all else. He was a loyal Arizona sports fan who cheered for the Cardinals, Diamondbacks, and Suns, and he enjoyed buying lottery tickets and watching old Western movies.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosa; his children John (Kim), Michael (Melissa), Bobbie, and Nancy; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, JT. His legacy of devotion and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
