Scott Downing announce his passing on February 21, 2026, at the age of 65. Scott was born March 26, 1960, to Nancy (Scott) and Earl Murphy Downing.Scott met the love of his life, Kathryn Montgomery, at age 17 and they happily spent the next 37 years together. He spent his working years in multiple roles at several Goodyear stores, including mechanic, shop manager, and owner (Alamogordo). He spent his retirement years supporting his family (especially his mother), neighbors, and numerous fortunate feral cats, as well as tinkering around the house and yard just as his father did.Scott is preceded in death by his love, Kathy Montgomery and his father, Earl Murphy Downing.He is survived by his feline companion, Smudge; his mother Nancy Downing; his sisters, Janice Kreher and Loree Downing; his brother-in-law, Harvey Kreher; and his two nephews, Jeremy Kreher and Levi Kreher.Services pending.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
