John Norwood ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations - La Grange on Mar. 17, 2026.It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Randle "Randy" Norwood, who passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of 80.Randy was born on January 15, 1946, in Corsicana, Texas, to John and Kitty Norwood. Throughout his life he was deeply devoted to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Randy was known for his kindness, steady faith, and the genuine way he cared for others. He touched many lives and will be remembered for the love and guidance he gave to those around him.Randy dedicated 47 years of service to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and took great pride in his work. Outside of his career, he found joy in coaching his children, playing tennis, skiing, studying and teaching the Bible and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kathy Lynn Norwood; his children Laura Norwood Toro and her husband Rafael, David Norwood and his wife Christine, and Josie Barclay and her husband Jesse.He was a proud grandfather to Caleb Norwood, Brookelynn Barclay, Easton Norwood, Dara Toro, Channing Barclay, Leila Norwood, and Zoe Barclay.Randy is also survived by his siblings Joe Norwood, Judy Gallin, Thomas Norwood, and Ronal Norwood.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Kitty Norwood, his son John Harold Norwood, and his beloved dog Comet.A celebration of Randy's life will be held on Saturday, April 4th at 10 AM at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home in La Grange, Texas.The family sincerely appreciates the love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.In lieu of flowers please send donations to support the La Grange ISD tennis program which will make a lasting impact on the support he loved:La Grange ISD Norwood Tennis P.
