John R. Stockey

John Richard Stockey, son of William J. Stockey and Paraskevia (Mary Carauox) Stockey, was born on June 12, 1929, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War. Upon returning to St. Paul, he worked as a semi-truck driver before marrying Jean E. Krejce on June 15, 1957, in Springfield, Ohio. The couple later settled in Oakdale, Minnesota, where they built a home and raised their family.

John was a dedicated member of the Church of St. Agnes. He shared 61 years of marriage with Jean, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Dickey Stockey, Mary (Dennis) Hallen, Gene (Andreana) Stockey, and Al Stockey, as well as six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, relatives, and friends. Two great-grandchildren preceded him in death.
