Delton, MI
John Phillip Vigneron, age 74, of Delton, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
John was born to Elwin and Bernadine Vigneron on September 12, 1951, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Throughout his life, John was known for his strength, kindness, work ethic, and deep devotion to his family and his Catholic faith. His faith guided his life and the way he treated others—with compassion, humility, and generosity.
John had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. These passions brought him great joy and many memorable moments shared with friends and family. He was involved with charitable organizations that helped individuals with disabilities experience the joys of deer hunting and horseback riding. These events and the other volunteers he worked with meant a great deal to him. In addition to his love for the outdoors, John generously gave his time to his community by coaching youth baseball and soccer. He was also an active member of his parish community and sang in the men's choir at St. Ann Catholic Church, where his faith and love of music were expressed through worship.
Family and friends were at the center of John’s life. He valued time with loved ones and was always ready to offer support, advice, or a helping hand. To his children he was loving but fair. He made sure to instill his values in them as well as the importance of hard work. He especially cherished his role as a grandfather and loved spending time with his three grandchildren. He loved his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and was known affectionately as “Uncle Puppa”. John held his family dear and loved creating memories that will be treasured by his family for years to come.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cindy (née Nichols); as well as his two sons, Patrick and Jack (Chelsea) Vigneron; and his cherished grandchildren, Marlowe, Louis, and Luc Vigneron. He is also survived by his siblings, Archbishop Emeritus Allen Vigneron, Ronald (Diane) Vigneron, Patricia Maxwell, Mark (Anne Marie) Vigneron, and Gary (Kimberly) Vigneron.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elwin Vigneron, and his mother, Bernadine Vigneron.
