John Noah Clement Sr., 78, of Hoxie, Arkansas, passed away on March 8, 2026, at the Ash Flat Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born on January 19, 1948, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to A.J. and Sarah Elizabeth Gibbs Clement, John dedicated much of his life to serving his country. He began his military service in Vietnam and, after returning home, served as a motorcycle cop in Pine Bluff from 1970 to 1976. He then began a full-time career with the Arkansas National Guard, retiring in 2000 as Sergeant Major. Among his many honors were the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters.
John was married to the love of his life, Penny Goodnight, for 49 years. His greatest joys were fishing, collecting fishing gear, caring for his family, and spoiling his granddaughters. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Clement; his parents, A.J. and Sarah Elizabeth Clement; and his stepmother, Deloris Clement. Survivors include his son, John Noah (Becky) Clement Jr. of Harrison; his daughter, Kelley (Richard) Whitmire of Hoxie; two granddaughters, Caroline and Emma Claire; his brothers, Everett (Jean) Clement of Grapevine, Ray (Anne) Clement of Risen, and Ronnie Clement of Whitehall; and many other relatives and friends.
