Preserve forever →John "Mike" Michael Todd
January 22, 1961— March 10, 2026
South Milford, IN
John “Mike” Michael Todd, age 65, of South Milford and Pretty Lake, passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2026, at Parkview Regional Hospital after suffering cardiac arrest.
Born on January 22, 1961, in Kendallville, Indiana, Mike was the beloved son of Mary Elizabeth Owens, whom he lovingly called “my mama,” and John Whitford Todd, who had passed away just five months earlier. In 1980, he married his high school sweetheart, Robin, whom he affectionately called “Fancy.” Together for more than four decades, Mike was Robin’s steadfast protector and constant source of laughter, a man whose devotion left no doubt about where his heart belonged. He worked as a brick mason alongside his father and grandfather before becoming the owner and operator of Todd Masonry.
A proud “Girl Dad,” Mike raised three daughters in a household he often joked left him strategically outnumbered. He wore that role with honor, serving as his family’s shield and biggest supporter, whether cheering at basketball games or playfully acting out the antics of their cat, Ivy. His unapologetic style, signature cut-off jean shorts, and larger-than-life personality made him impossible to forget. Mike cherished his tight-knit group of friends, many of whom had been by his side since high school. They shared decades of Wednesday night dinners, lake adventures, and laughter, with Mike serving as the heart and humor of their circle.
He was a man of deep conviction who loved his church, his country, and John Wayne. Whether lifting weights while watching Gunsmoke, executing memorable belly flops into Pretty Lake, or enjoying his seasonal “lake baths” with Irish Spring, Mike lived fully and loved deeply. He is remembered as a walking encyclopedia of dates and trivia, a hard worker, and someone who loved even harder.
Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin Marie, and his father, John Whitford Todd. He is survived by his wife Robin; daughters Erika, Kati, and Jami (Matthew) Beck, all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Avery, Asher, Ezra, and Eliza Beck; his mother Mary Todd of South Milford; sisters Holly (Jeff) Spaw of Avilla and Tamara (Denver) Preston of Big Long Lake; brothers-in-law and their wives, Curt and Mary Catherine Landers of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jack and Denise Landers of Pretty Lake; many nieces and nephews; his cherished circle of friends; and Ivy the cat.
