He was born to Anna and Lloyd Stewart, July 6, 1959.John leaves behind his wife Beth(Freeberg) Stewart, of 43 years, his three daughters Megan Weise (Geoffery); Sarah Williams (Nathan), Amanda Stewart(Jake); grandson Remington Weise; granddaughter Riverleigh Weise ; two sisters he loved dearly, Cindy Mech(Stacey, Jennifer, Bryan) and Marylou Crist(Lyle); brother(Keith); Uncle John had many nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephew that he loved and adored.Born and raised most of his life in Amarillo, TX, John loved hunting, fishing and was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, gun enthusiast and true patriot. John loved his daughters more than anything and was so proud of each of them. Pops(John) loved his grandson Remington and granddaughter Riverleigh something fierce and they were the light in his life. John looked forward to feeding the deer and spending time with them. Pops was THE best pops there ever was.John had a contagious personality and never met a stranger. Ready to give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need and lend a helping hand. Our family will miss John terribly and he will be forever in our hearts. Many of you know that John battled this terrible disease this last year, he has now been healed by his lord and savior. In honor of John, we encourage you to be screened for colon cancer.-Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States when combining men and women, with over 50,000 deaths annually.• New Screen Age: Guidelines now recommend starting screening at age 45. Age is nothing but a number.• Cases (2026): Estimated 158,850 new colorectal cancer cases, with 55,230 estimated deaths.• Younger Risk: 30% of diagnoses occur in people under 55.Colon cancer is the leading cause of cancer related deaths in young people age 20-49. 45 is the recommend age to get a colonoscopy, however if you have a family history of colon cancer-or notice symptoms like persistent abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits, blood in your stool, or unexplained weight loss-please talk to your doctor about getting a colonoscopy.Early detection can save lives. You do NOT have to wait until 45 and can insist upon screening. Colon cancer is often very treatable when caught early, and screening is one of the most effective ways to find it before it becomes serious. If your doctor doesn't initially recommend a colonoscopy but you have concerns or risk factors, don't be afraid to ask questions or advocate for your health. Your voice matters. Encourage your family and friends to stay informed about their health and screening options. One conversation could make a life-saving difference.Get screened for John. Please reach out to the family for services details. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
