John Michael Decker

John Michael Decker of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Adira Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 73.

Born on January 25, 1953, in Saginaw, John was the son of the late John J. and Kathleen (Dowdy) Decker. A devoted family man, he took great pride in his role as a father, grandfather, and brother. He was a passionate sports fan who followed Michigan football, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Tigers with enthusiasm. John loved playing and watching golf, and he cherished the memory of scoring a hole-in-one at Beech Hollow Golf Course. He also enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, and admiring classic muscle cars for their power and style.

For more than 40 years, John served the Saginaw community as a barber, building lasting friendships through his work and warm personality. He will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family and the joy he found in the sports and activities he loved.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Mike) Ozerajtys, David Decker, and Jacob Decker-Schaeding (Sam); five grandchildren, Kayla (Matt), Ava, Tyler, Miley, and Parker; his siblings, Don (Sandy) Hodgins, Brenda Decker, Pamela Decker, and Janet (Andrew) Spaeth; as well as a niece and several nephews.
