John Moore ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Stroud Funeral Home on Feb. 27, 2026.John McIntyre Moore, 86, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 26, 2026.John was born on November 18, 1939, in Fallon, Nevada, to James McIntyre Moore and Vera Lazetta Franke Moore. He grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and faith that remained the foundation of his life.He attended the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. It was there that he met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Schied. Their college romance blossomed into a lifelong partnership filled with devotion, faith, and shared purpose.John and Patricia began building their family, welcoming their two sons, John McIntyre (Mac) and William James (Bill). The family moved to Fort Lewis in Washington State, where John began his service in the U.S. Army. During this time, their daughter Debra was born.In the mid-1960s, the family relocated to Lake Jackson, Texas, where John began his long career as a chemical engineer with Dow Chemical Company. A few years later, their youngest daughter, Rebecca, was born. After several years in Lake Jackson, John and Patricia made their home in Brazoria, Texas.While living in Brazoria, the family were faithful members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. John gave generously of his time and faith, serving as a CCD teacher, Eucharistic Minister, and lector. His commitment to his church reflected the deep faith that guided his life.Retirement from Dow did not slow John down. Together, he and Patricia joined the Angleton Citizen Police Academy, which sparked a new chapter of service. John graduated from the Brazosport College Police Academy and went on to serve with the Angleton Police Department, continuing his lifelong dedication to protecting and serving others.John was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Moore; his beloved son, Mac Moore; and his granddaughter, Angela Stapleton.He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia Moore; his son, Bill (Debbie) Moore; his daughters, Debbie (Benno) Schulten and Rebecca (Gary) Hay; Numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and the many family members and friends who were blessed by his steady presence, strong faith, and servant's heart.Visitation will be held Sunday, March 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m., at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Brazoria.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
