John M. Viscardi

John M. Viscardi, 88, of East Petersburg, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was married to his wife, Dee, for 42 years. John served three years as an Aviation Machinist in the U.S. Navy and 23 years as a Lieutenant with the New York City Fire Department. After retiring in 1984, he moved with his family to Lancaster and worked as a guidance counselor for the Church of the Brethren in Manheim. A devoted member of Saint John Neumann Catholic Church, he was a Charter Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12532 and a 4th Degree Knight in the Santa Maria Assembly. He was also an active member of the Lancaster Italian Cultural Society.

John was a loving and supportive presence in his family’s lives. He never hesitated to help those he cared about and would move mountains on their behalf. Though headstrong, he lived a life filled with laughter and joy. His warm smile and relentless sense of humor will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Dee; children Tony (Wendy), Tom (Stacey), Tracey (Mike), and Scott; grandchildren Anthony, Jordon, Victoria (Elijah), Alesha, Thomas, Dominick, Peyton, Noah, Rebecca (Adam), Eliza, Gabriel, Amanda, and Olivia; and five great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his children John, Angela, and Lisa, and his sister MaryAnn.
