Mundy, age 86, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at UPMC Hamot. He was born on July 06, 1939, in Conneaut, OH., a son of the late Frank and Anna (Milakovich) Mundy.John served his Country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 58' to 62' as a 0311 - Rifleman (Specialty). After Active-Duty Releasement, he was transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve; assigned to Corpus Christi, Tx until 1964; whereby he married the Love of his life, Connie K. (Cox) Mundy (U.S.Navy).John and his 'Love' relocated several times while in Management position for Grant Department Stores. His decision to improve upon his career and family, resulted in owning and operating V&M Service for over 40 years. His Care and Common Sense illuminated within Eries' Greater Community.Attributes include: Sponsoring one of the 1st soccer teams in EYSA (1974) Induction (V&M Minute Men). Co-Sponsoring Eries' first All-Star soccer team (Galloping Ghost). Head Coaching basketball at Saint Joseph's and football for the Bay City AA (Browns). Of course, let's not forget numerous hours playing softball, beginning with early CarpetTown fast pitch and finishing with the Old Erie Codgers.Lastly, giving to numerous charities involving children with special needs, special circumstances. We all Love You and Miss You.In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his loving wife, and brothers Michael and Frank Jr.He is survived by his three sons, Keith, Kevin, and John Jr., wife Monica, all of Erie; five grandchildren, Jacob Mundy, of Erie; Noel, Noah, Isabella, and Hunter Mundy, all of Corry, Pa; a sister, Kay Ann Brabender of Jefferson OH., and several nieces and nephews.Private arrangements are under the direction of Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Ave Branch, 845 E 38th St. Private interment at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
